The stadium is one of the many well-preserved landmarks from the time of Ancient Rome in present-day Plovdiv. When it was in use, it could hold around 30,000 people, making it one of the largest stadiums in the Roman world.
Kapana is a neighborhood in the center of Plovdiv and one of the most interesting and dynamic places in the city, combining historical charm with a creative and modern atmosphere. In the evening, the area fills with energy, and the nightlife in the Kapana district is among the liveliest and most attractive in Plovdiv. The place attracts locals and tourists alike with a variety of bars, clubs, cocktail and wine bars, as well as cozy cafes.
The second largest Bulgarian monastery after Rila, located about 30 km from Plovdiv, and set in an exceptionally picturesque area. There are numerous hiking trails and routes around the monastery that lead to interesting natural landmarks, such as the waterfalls of the Chaya River. Many visitors combine their visit to the monastery with walks in the tranquility of nature.
Located in the Rhodope Mountains, 15 km from Plovdiv, Asen's Fortress is built on a steep rock. Although much of the fortifications are not completely preserved, the ruins still impress with their scale. The fortress features remains of walls, towers, gates, and churches. One of the most important and famous landmarks is the Church of "St. Virgin Mary of Petrich." The panoramic views of the surrounding mountains make the fortress an ideal place to combine history and relaxation amidst nature.
